Intelex Systems recognises the need for urgent and sustained action on climate change. This plan sets our direction for measuring and reducing greenhouse-gas emissions across our own operations and relevant value chain while supporting clients to use technology efficiently.
Current measurement position
Intelex is establishing a verified organisational emissions baseline covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and material Scope 3 categories. The baseline programme will consider office energy, purchased electricity, business travel, employee commuting and homeworking, cloud and data-centre services, purchased goods and services, waste and relevant logistics.
We will not publish estimated figures as verified performance. Quantitative baseline and reporting tables will be added after data boundaries, methods and quality have been reviewed. Until then, this page records our reduction governance, actions and publication commitment.
Reduction priorities
- Optimise cloud workloads, storage, retention and compute utilisation.
- Prefer energy-efficient, renewable-powered services where evidence and commercial requirements allow.
- Reduce avoidable business travel through effective remote collaboration.
- Use rail in preference to domestic air travel where practical.
- Extend equipment life, reuse assets and use responsible recycling channels.
- Improve office energy efficiency and renewable-electricity procurement.
- Request environmental and emissions information from material suppliers.
Digital sustainability
Software architecture affects energy and resource use. Our engineering teams consider efficient data movement, right-sized infrastructure, observability, storage lifecycle, media retention, code performance and unnecessary processing as part of responsible platform design.
Efficiency decisions must continue to protect security, resilience, accessibility, service quality and lawful retention requirements.
Targets and governance
- Complete the organisational emissions baseline and document the calculation method.
- Publish annual Scope 1 and 2 figures and material Scope 3 categories when data quality is sufficient.
- Set evidence-based interim reduction targets after the baseline is approved.
- Review environmental actions at least annually through management governance.
- Maintain records supporting reported figures and explain material boundary changes.
Progress reporting
This plan will be updated at least annually. Future editions will include the reporting boundary, baseline year, tCO₂e by scope, intensity measures where useful, completed initiatives, progress against targets and the next year’s priorities.
